About

After graduating from Cambridge University I gained a Commision in the Royal Air Force and served for several years. I then became a Police Officer – but I had to be medically retired, having been assaulted one night shift. I had many problems with my left knee and despite several operations it failed to improve. This is why I have finally undertaken my ‘last resort’ option of patella re-alignment surgery.

I have always loved adventure, being outdoors and being physically fit and active. Horses were my first love, and I learned to ride at the age of six. Running and hillwalking followed on, and then mountaineering in the Scottish Highlands, especially “munro bagging” – climbing the mountains over 3,000 ft. Sadly I am not able to do these things now, but I still haven’t given up the idea that I might at some point in the future!

Other than that, I am very interested in gardening, historic properties, writing, reading, singing and piano.
